COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

SAJSA now has the pleasure of being able to announce the date and location of the Country Championships. They will be held in Port Pirie, 25th/26th September. You will notice that it is later than normal but we were determined to make it happen so that the players do not miss out again this year as happened in 2020 due to Covid.

We apologise once again for the delay but offer as reasons the fact that since realising that it was unwise to travel to Mildura, we have spent many weeks investigating 4 alternatives. This has involved many meetings with Councils and leaseholders of proposed venues regarding availability. One by one, Whyalla, Strathalbyn, Adelaide Shores and another were eliminated for many reasons. This is why we have not engaged in replies to Facebook posts because we did not want to give out any false hopes or disappointments. All Association’s have now made the choice between this weekend or the October long weekend and ruled out the latter, for many reasons, such as SIP girls commitments and parents that may have pre-booked to holiday.

Unfortunately one Association, Limestone Coast are unable to attend on the September weekend due to finals, which is unfortunate for the players.

We cannot post this report without documenting our sincere thanks to the PPJSA and their championship team led by Kylie Crouch who organised the 2019 event and are undertaking to provide this one for all the teams over the same 2 successful venues. Finally once again we thank you for your continued patience and trust we can all look forward to an enjoyable weekend.
